Grantmaking is the heart of what we do. From starting preschool to starting a small business, from having a safe place to call home to having reliable transportation to get there, we provide financial support to the many nonprofits working to make life better for everyone in West Marin. Our grantmaking aligns with our strategic vision to address immediate issues and build long-term resilience in our region.

Nonprofits work tirelessly to support their communities. To do their best work, nonprofits need support, too. The Fund for West Marin provides skill-building workshops, trainings, opportunities for shared learning, and dedicated grants to empower our nonprofit partners to fulfill their missions.

We bring together diverse partners across our region to align resources, avoid duplication of efforts, and ensure that community voices are heard. We facilitate collaborative networks, including the West Marin Collaborative, which serves as a central hub to facilitate dialogue and coordinate efforts across the region, and the Executive Directors Group, which allows nonprofit leaders to come together and strategize collaborative approaches to shared challenges.

As the only community foundation solely focused on West Marin, we work to raise the visibility of our community and catalyze investment from public and private funders who might otherwise overlook our region. Through partnerships with county agencies and by providing critical data for decision-making, we’re building a case for investing in West Marin.
